Our trailers have air-ride suspension and logistics posts. We have a mix of units ranging from 28-ft drop frame trailers (for deliveries to low buildings with access under 11 feet) to 53-ft freight vans. Special-purpose units include one 48-ft lowboy van line moving trailer, one flatbed trailer, one reefer trailer and two forklift trailers. Some of our trailers have 5,000-lb lift gates. Units without lift gates can be unloaded using 16-ft aluminum ramps, which are carried on board.
All bobtails have lift gates, air-ride suspension and logistics posts. We use column lift gates because they are more reliable than tuck away lift gates or typical rail lifts. We specify logistics posts in our truck bodies to guarantee that we can secure our loads regardless of item height.
Service West owns approximately two-thirds of its trailers and leases the rest. Approximately 90% of our power units are on a maintenance lease and our fleet is refreshed every five years.
